The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, ((ウズベク語:O'zbekiston Respublikasi Ichki ishlаr vаzirligi)), is a body of the Government of Uzbekistan that is charged with the internal affairs of Uzbekistan and oversees the national police. The Ministry of Internal Affairs was founded on 25 August 1991. It replaced the Soviet Interior Ministry. The current Minister of Internal Affairs is Adxam Ahmedbaev, who was the First Deputy Minister of Interior Affairs of Uzbekistan before 2013.

Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and its independent field offices are part of the law enforcement agencies.
In order to improve and streamline the activities of internal affairs highest state authorities adopted a series of laws and decisions . One such document is adopted by the People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs of the Turkestan ASSR June 26, 1919 Charter "On the worker-peasant militia Council Turkestan Republic Council of the Russian Federation ", adopted in July of the same year Statute "On the establishment of the Criminal Investigation ", adopted in 1948, the Charter "On police posts and patrol ", adopted July 20, 1953 the Council of Ministers of the Uzbek SSR Decree " on measures to strengthen the fight against crime and maintaining public order in Uzbekistan", September 26, 1962 the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the former Soviet Union was proclaimed November 10 "Day militia ", issued a decree on its celebration, April 6, 1963 the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR adopted a decision on the right to a preliminary investigation by the Decree " On the granting of the right to a preliminary investigation bodies of public order.

Pursuant to the above documents are conducted reforms and changes in the activities of the leading services of the Interior. In the course of reforms and transformations Investigation Department, the Office of the protection of public order, the Office of Traffic Safety, Department of Crime Prevention and Fire Department were transformed into Top Management, expanded their challenges and opportunities in the field offices were transferred to the control status . These reforms and transformation continues to this day .
Currently, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic operate independent units, such as, the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and the fight against terrorism, the Central Investigation Office, the Department patrol and protection of public order, the General Directorate of crime prevention, Main Road Safety, General Directorate of fire Safety management -out entry and citizenship, Republican Association "Protection" and other management and service.
